Christ The King

Got tension?  Have you been watching the news and hearing about all of the crazy things going on in the world and thinking that it's only a matter of time before it all implodes?  Us too!  That's why we are thinking about Christmas in the spring because as Pastor Mark Winder reminded us this past Sunday evening, King Jesus was born during a time of great tension in the world, and Luke's Gospel opens by contrasting the tension between the rulers of this earth and The Ruler of Heaven.  It is spring, but the cradle is connected to the cross, and we celebrate these two events every Lord's Day as we worship our risen King.

The One who has come will come again, until then we would like to point you to the following resources to help you trust in Him as you wait patiently for Him.  Everyday is a day closer!

Pastor Mark's sermon, "The King is Born" Luke 2:1-7, is available for you to enjoy and find encouragement in. Here is the link-

Pastor Mark has been preaching through Luke's gospel, for those sermons, here is the link-

Pastor Mark and his friends at Proclaiming Christ have started going through the book of Exodus which is also a great and timely resource in which we see parallels to our day- tension between the rulers of this earth and The Ruler of Heaven, oppression, suffering, infanticide, and encouragement.  The link to "Exodus 1 - They Made Their Lives Bitter" is here-

And if being reminded that salvation has come to the world doesn't excite you, maybe Simeon's excitement will help you.  Can you imagine what it must have been like for Simeon to hold King Jesus in his arms?

Luke 2:29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; 30 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”

Go serve your King!

We would like to invite you to explore Christ and Christianity with us as we grow in our knowledge of and love for our Lord. If you are looking for a good church home, we would like to be a good church home, and we are asking God to provide the increase (1 Corinthians 1:3-6). We would love to have you join us, come as you are-
