Blessed

Psalm 32 How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! 2 How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit!

Happy New Year from West Tennessee Reformed!  As we look back on 2018, we can't help but praise the Lord for 12 months of informal worship services held at the Adamsville Area Reformed Bible Study, and we look forward to the next 6 months of informal worship services in 2019.  On Sunday evening, December 30th,  Pastor Mark Winder made his 12th two hour journey from Collierville, TN to Adamsville, TN to preach from Luke's gospel.  He said that he could not think of a better way to say goodbye to the old and ring in the new, we wholeheartedly agree.  The sermon "Blessed Is She Who Believed" from Luke 1:39-45 helped remind us what it truly means to be "blessed" and as Pastor Winder pronounced the benediction from Numbers 6,

‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.’

we were reminded to never take this blessing for granted, to always be moved and amazed, to be full of wonder, love, and praise because it is the Lord himself who blesses us and marks us with His own name which helps us to look backward to the old and forward to the new:

"These words were first given in the context of a book written at the end of Israel’s wilderness wanderings and as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. It is a book that looks backward and forward, reminding God’s covenant people of their past blessings, as well as encouraging them concerning God’s future promises." ~ David King, Tabletalk, May The Lord Bless You And Keep You

We would like to invite you to join us as we bring in the new, please pray that the Lord would bless our church planting efforts.  If you are looking for a good church home, we would like to be a good church home, and we are asking God to provide the increase (1 Corinthians 1:3-6).  We would love to have you join us, come as you are-

"But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

We meet every Wednesday evening at 7pm and every Sunday evening at 5pm for Bible study.
Pastor Mark Winder holds informal worship services on the last Sunday of every month at 5pm.
We meet at 1st Presbyterian Church in Adamsville, TN 328 Old Stage Rd

The sun comes up; it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul

~10,000 Reasons

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psalm 103
